According to the Canadian Press, 22-year old Roopam Plawn (not pictured above, stock photo) is suing her former boyfriend Jasmeet Ahluwalia for causing her to fail a marketing class at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, suggesting the distress from the couple’s breakup led to the failing grade.
In her notice of claim, Plawn asks for Ahluwalia to pay $500 for the class, $600 for causing anxiety, depression and insomnia which led to a loss of working time and performance, and $250 for “severe distress”, in addition to also paying any costs stemming from court proceedings.
According to Plawn, who is studying Business Administration with a focus in Psychology & Human Resource Management at TRU, the on-again, off-again couple met in September 2013, but broke up in early 2014 before getting back together again and ending the relationship for good in May.
Plawn adds she lent Ahluwalia $3,500 while they were together and she wants the money back, with interest added.
None of Plawn’s allegations have yet to be proven in court.
Ahluwalia has 14 days to respond to the notice after he’s been served.
Last month, Plawn was a contestant in the Miss India Canada pageant. In her pageant bio, Plawn says she hopes to become an entrepreneur.
