DENVER (CBS Denver) — Only Tim Tebow could turn his passing yards into a biblical passage.
In a thrilling 29-23 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Denver Broncos quarterback threw for 316 yards and set a postseason record of averaging 31.6 yards per completion.
The religious aspect takes shapes with the number 316 because one of Tebow’s favorite Bible passage is John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Tebow would put “John 3:16″ on his eye-black during his playing days at the University of Florida.
The Broncos will continue to seek “eternal” life in the playoffs Saturday as they hope to take down the New England Patriots.
