Another Georgia Tech Student Attacked

Orange Bowl - Iowa v Georgia Tech
Reporting Jean Ross
ATLANTA (AP) – Atlanta police say they are hoping officers wearing plain clothes can prevent robberies of students near the Georgia Tech campus. Atlanta police Maj. Chris Leighty says  that the plainclothes officers are being sent into neighborhoods around the downtown campus. In the most recent robbery, a Georgia Tech student told police he was attacked and robbed as he walked home from campus early Monday. The student said he was a few blocks from his home on Tumlin Street when two men in a gold Toyota got out of their car and approached him. Police say one of the men was armed with a handgun. He told police he was kicked and punched in the head, and his cell phone and wallet were stolen.
Students also held a rally on campus today to support the idea that students should carry guns for their protection.
