Latest Poll: Discontent With Obama Econ at 60%
Americans' level of dissatisfaction with President Obama over the economy has reached its highest number on record.
A new CBS News poll shows 60 percent of the public disapprove of how he has handled the economy - the highest percentage ever.
Only 34 percent of poll participants approved of his peformance concerning the economy.
A stunning 86 percent of those polled believe the economy is in bad shape and only 18 percent say they see the economy improving.
Thirty-two percent actually see the economy getting worse.
As far as the president's overall performance, 43 percent approve and 47 percent diapprove of the job he is doing.
When broken down by political party concerning his overall performance, 39 percent of Independents, 76 percent of Democrats and 12 percent of Republicans approve of the work he is doing.
On the subject of foreign policy, the president's numbers are better with 45 percent approving and 41 percent disapproving of his efforts regarding overseas issues.
The report card on Congress isn't good with the poll indicating only 9 percent of participants approving of the work being done on the Hill.
The numbers by party concerning Congress are fairly close with 82 percent of Democrats and 78 percent of Republicans disapproving of the work being done in the Senate and the House.
