Why does it feel like we are sliding down a funnel getting sqeezed tighter as we go ?

Why are there all these things going wrong at once ,wars , earthquakes,  , then mismanagement of our corn supply ,hunger and starvation  ??           Why are these signs coming at us almost in a rush ?
